What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is by-far the most studied cannabinoid of the more than 116 known cannabinoids found in the cannabis (hemp) plant. Being all-natural, it comprises around 40% of the hemp plant.

Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychotropic. This means CBD will not get you high. CBD is often regarded as the single most important cannabinoid ever discovered. With on-going research, the list of its benefits continues to grow giving more and more hope to patients suffering from a multitude of symptoms.

How Does CBD Work?

Decades of research shows that your endocannabinoid system (ECS) is primarily responsible for managing homeostasis: your body’s natural condition of balance. Everything from your temperature, blood sugar levels, pain sensation, sleeping, inflammation responses, CO2 levels, etc., need to be actively regulated within a narrow range of error to ensure optimal health.

When CBD is introduced to the body, it links with two of the main cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body, CB1 and CB2. Together, these receptors and CBD interact with the endocannabinoid system to help regulate your body’s homeostasis.

This chart is a great illustration for you to see the different strains of cannabinoids and how they can effect your body. We carry two lines of CBD products - one that only contains CBD and another that contains this full spectrum of cannabinoids.

Is It Legal?

Our CBD products are exclusively made from industrial hemp. According to the FDA, hemp and hemp-derived extracts are food-based products posing no legal restriction. Although extracting CBD from hemp is more costly than traditional methods, it allows the ability to control the specific strain and extraction process. This ability ensures high concentrations of CBD while restricting the THC.
